Another year has passed. We’ve covered a lot of new ground over the past year on our journey of life together here in the E-g family. We’ve seen some new breathtaking views, and had some new thrilling life experiences. We’ve endured deep personal losses together that none of us are ever truly prepared for. We have also been pleasantly surprised by life more times than we can count… And yet with all of that “new,” we find ourselves in familiar territory after a Best Places to Work celebration banquet.
Here in the heartland of America, there are truly good people. And some of them start wonderful and successful businesses, which not only seek to provide top-notch and friendly services to their customers, but also provide a thriving work environment, community, and culture for the people that choose to work there. So once again we are surrounded by a phenomenal group of folks creating best places to work with well-known names here in Indiana and beyond. We’re truly honored.
As a region, as a state, and as a municipal area in central Indiana: We are all blessed. But as a small company that started in half of a garage back in 2000, we’re simply overwhelmed by that blessing once again at E-g.
People should be treasured.
Most of us have heard the saying, “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” We treasure people here at E-g – that’s where our heart is. Now of course, nothing’s perfect here. We have some bad days and seasons. Sometimes there’s snow, sleet, hail, and severe thunderstorms on the trail of our journey together. But we endure and we thrive – together – not simply for a bottom line, but for something far more enduring and endearing: people. People should be treasured.
It is a deeply humbling thing for us to be publicly recognized as a Best Place to Work, because we never expected folks outside E-g to recognize the value we place on the things we choose to value. We don’t start programs or have benefits here to get recognition; we do those things because we treasure people. So, to have outside acknowledgement and affirmation of something we are deeply and personally convicted of and committed to… well we’re collectively blushing about that once again right now, while at the same time confidently knowing what we have here is nothing short of special.
Who truly knows what the road has for us ahead on this journey? Even so, we’re confident there are more stunning vistas, and thrilling experiences, and yes even difficult times in store. But we’re going to take new ground together, as a family would. And as we serve our customers – who we cherish – we’re going to soak it all up, day by day.
